Carole Ann married television inventor John Logie Baird's son, Gordon Mays Baird. His mother was a Kathleen Faux, the family was known for their artistic talent and independence. With the combination of art and inventiveness Carole and Gordon are always finding new things to do.

Their love of Windmills became a working hobby when the applied to help run Heckington Windmill. It is the only 8 sail windmill in the world apart from a very old derelict Russian one.
